Fencing at the 2nd Elementary School of Melissia

On Monday, September 28, 2026, the Penteli Fencing Club – LYGAS visited the 2nd Elementary School of Melissia as part of Sports Day.

Our coach, Dimitris Makris, and our athletes, Sofia and Agni Palaska, representing the Hellenic Fencing Federation, presented the Olympic sport of fencing to each of the school’s six classes. The president of our Club, Theodosius Palaskas, also attended the event in his capacity as First Vice President of the Hellenic Fencing Federation.

171 children learned basic movements and participated with great enthusiasm in fencing games with one another, under the guidance of our coach and athletes.

We warmly thank the Principal, Ms. Irini Douma, and the teachers for the invitation and their hospitality. Above all, we thank the children for the joy, curiosity, and enthusiasm with which they tried our sport!
